About the Designer

Archetype Designs is a Custom Home Design Firm whose office is in Kerrville, Texas. We design primarily in the Texas Hill Country, but have designed homes throughout the state, and in other states when the client desires a Texas-Style home. With hundreds of clients and most of the homes built in the Texas Hill Country, Mickey Thompson is known as the designer with never-ending creativity and flare. His practical knowledge of construction has led home builders and contractors to choose him to design their personal homes as well as award winning Parade Homes. His award winning home designs have included a vast array of Texas Home Styles.

Mickey studied architecture at Texas A&M and Texas Tech Universities, and refined his artistic skills while attending Houston Museum of Fine Arts. While Archetype Designs was formally established in 1992 and Texas Home Plans in 2004, Mickey has over 25 years of construction and design experience.
